Sex therapy is an extension of talk therapy which addresses themes of sex and sexuality. It can be used with individuals and couples, and can include exploring sexual identities or preferences, working through sexual difficulties (ie erectile difficulties, struggles to reach orgasm, early ejaculation, low arousal, mismatched sexual desire in couples), healing sexual trauma, and improving pleasure and intimacy. Many individuals come to me experiencing shame around thoughts and feelings that they are afraid to share with anyone in their lives, and it can be very comforting to confide in a professional who will provide nonjudgmental warmth and support as they explore these parts of themselves. In couples it can be very helpful to have guidance towards communication that honors both parties’ needs and desires without condemnation.
I have obtained certification through California Institute of Integral Studies in sex therapy, and continue to receive supervision as I work towards AASECT certification.
My services are queer, poly and kink friendly.
